What’s Not Included:

• Personal Expenses: Any costs incurred from personal activities not explicitly mentioned, such as souvenirs or snacks outside of provided meals.
• Jungle Porters: Should you require assistance with your camera or luggage in the jungle, porters are available at a rate of IDR 300.00 per day.
• Alcoholic Beverages: Drinks that fall outside of the provided meals will be at your expense.
• Travel Insurance: It is highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances. 
• Additional Excursions: Any tours or activities not listed in the specified itinerary will incur additional costs.
• Hotel Extras: Services such as laundry, use of the minibar, room service, and telephone calls will be charged separately by the hotel.
• Gratuities:** Tips for drivers, local guides, and landowners are not included and are at your discretion.
• Personal Items and Medical Expenses: Costs relating to personal items, medical fees, and other services not specifically mentioned are the traveler's responsibility. 
• Unforeseen Delays: Any expenses resulting from flight cancellations, delays, or other factors beyond our control, are not included.

PAYMENTS
We need a minimum of 50% deposit payment to confirm your booking, unfortunately, we cannot promise your booking until this has been received. Bookings will be held for 7 days to allow the client time to send a deposit payment. We reserve the right to release the booking if the deposit is not received within 7 days of the booking being made. Changes of dates to bookings after the deposit has been made can be done but will be subject to availability. The invoice amount has to be paid in full, net of all transfer costs and bank charges.

Itinerary

Nimbokrang is an enchanting transmigration settlement located a scenic two-hour drive from the vibrant city of Jayapura, nestled in the lush landscapes of West Sentani. This charming base serves as an ideal starting point for adventurers keen to explore the stunning bird-rich lowland alluvial forests that stretch out at the foot of the majestic Cyclops Mountains.

While parts of the surrounding forest are being cleared for agricultural pursuits, vast areas remain untouched, offering a pristine habitat for wildlife. The network of roads and winding side paths invites exploration into the deep, verdant heart of the forest, revealing its hidden treasures.

In Nimbokrang, birdwatchers can encounter an array of mesmerizing birds of paradise. Among them are the splendid King Bird of Paradise, the delicate Lesser Bird of Paradise, and the striking Twelve-wired Bird of Paradise, each displaying fantastical plumage and intricate courtship displays. 

This haven is also a paradise for kingfisher enthusiasts, where vibrant species such as the striking Yellow-billed Kingfisher, the charming Rufous-bellied Kookaburra, the uniquely billed Hook-billed Kingfisher, and the eye-catching Shovel-billed Kingfisher can be spotted flitting among the trees and waterways.

Moreover, the rich avian diversity continues with the presence of the Shining Flycatcher, as well as the elusive Greater and Lesser Black Coucals. Ornithologists will delight in witnessing Salvadori’s Fig Parrot, the gracefully curved Pale-billed Sicklebill, and the beautifully plumed Victoria Crowned Pigeon. The skies are alive with colors from the Rainbow Beater and the vibrantly hued Rainbow Lorikeet, alongside the captivating Red-flanked and Red-cheeked Lorikeets.

Lords of the treetops like the Eclectus Parrots and both Brown and Black-capped Lories join forces with the brilliant Sulphur-crested Cockatoos and the diminutive Buff-faced Pygmy Parrots. Completing this diverse avifauna is the majestic Papuan Hornbill, swirling through the treetops, accentuating Nimbokrang’s reputation as a true avian paradise.

Nimbokrang Birding Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Sentani Airport – Nimbokrang
Upon your arrival at Sentani Airport, you will be warmly greeted and ready for an exciting adventure. After a scenic drive of approximately two hours through lush landscapes, you will reach Nimbokrang. Check in to the cozy Nimbokrang Lodge, where a delicious lunch awaits you, showcasing local flavors. In the afternoon, we will embark on a visit to the observation hides, aiming to catch a glimpse of the enchanting Common Paradise Kingfisher or the elusive Papuan Pitta. As the sun sets, we will return to the lodge for a delightful dinner, sharing the day's experiences and bird encounters.

Day 2: Nimbokrang Birding – Morning and Afternoon
Rise and shine for an early start! At 4 AM, enjoy a hearty breakfast to energize you for the day ahead. By 4:30 AM, we will set off in a comfortable vehicle for a brief 20-minute ride, followed by a 30-minute hike through breathtaking rainforest towards the renowned site of the Twelve Wired Bird of Paradise. With its stunning plumage and striking courtship displays, this bird promises to be a highlight. We will spend time observing until 8 AM before continuing our expedition to the realm of the King Bird of Paradise, another spectacular species that graces this region.

Day 3: Nimbokrang Birding – Morning and Afternoon
After another early start with breakfast at 4 AM, we will depart by car again at 4:30 AM, making our way to the Lesser Bird-of-Paradise hotspot. A 20-minute drive followed by a 30-minute trek through the vibrant jungle will lead us to our next birding destination. Here, we will spend the morning marveling at the diversity of avian species along the logging road, taking in the sights and sounds of this rich ecosystem.

Day 4: Morning Birding and Afternoon Adventure
In the morning, we will explore the verdant surroundings of the local park, witnessing the chorus of birds as they awaken to greet the day. After a nourishing lunch, we will drive to an open area, abundant with wildlife, to seek out the striking Grand Manikin, known for its distinctive display.

Day 5: Final Birding Adventures
On our last morning, we have the option to return to the hide of the Twelve Wired Bird of Paradise for one final chance to observe this stunning bird. Afterward, you will enjoy some free time to relax or explore at your leisure until it's time to transfer to the airport for your onward journey. This trip culminates in a treasure trove of memories and experiences with some of the most remarkable birds in the world.
