Nimbokrang Lodge
Nimbokrang Lodge
In 2016, I embarked on an inspiring journey to Nimbokrang to survey the enchanting birds of paradise after I visited Raja Ampat. At that time, Nimbokrang lacked the guesthouses and lodges that were common in Arfak, making it a challenge for travelers seeking comfort during their birdwatching trips. During my initial stay, I settled in a modest local restaurant that kindly offered me a room.
As I soaked in the atmosphere and observed the community, a thought struck me: there was an opportunity to improve local accommodations. Behind the restaurant, there was vacant land, and I envisioned the potential for a guesthouse to support both tourism and the local economy. After discussing the idea with the restaurant owner, we came to a mutually beneficial agreement to collaborate on building a guesthouse.
I took the initiative to invest in the construction and outfitting of the guesthouse, providing essential amenities such as comfortable beds, air conditioning, and hot water showers to ensure a pleasant stay for our guests. Today, the guesthouse stands proudly as a welcoming haven for Sultan Birding visitors, helping to enrich the local community.
We take great pride in being able to help local people enhance their economic prospects through this endeavor. The guesthouse not only offers a comfortable place for birdwatchers to rest after a day of exploration but also meets the high standards we have set to ensure guest satisfaction. The meals served are delightful, prepared by a talented cook from Java at the restaurant nearby, further immersing guests in the vibrant local culture. It brings me immense joy to know that we are contributing to both the community and the unforgettable experiences of those who visit Nimbokrang in search of its marvelous avian inhabitants.
