PAYMENTS
We need a minimum of 50% deposit payment to confirm your booking, unfortunately, we cannot promise your booking until this has been received. Bookings will be held for 7 days to allow the client time to send a deposit payment. We reserve the right to release the booking if the deposit is not received within 7 days of the booking being made. Changes of dates to bookings after the deposit has been made can be done but will be subject to availability. The invoice amount has to be paid in full, net of all transfer costs and bank charges.

Day 01: Sorong – Waigeo
Welcome to the stunning beauty of Raja Ampat! Your journey begins with a delightful breakfast at the Swiss Belhotel in Sorong, where you can enjoy a picturesque view as you fuel up for the adventures ahead. Following your meal, you’ll embark on a serene ferry ride at 9 AM, whisking you away to the enchanting Waigeo Island. Upon arrival, you'll check into a charming resort that offers breathtaking vistas, where the azure waters meet the lush greenery of the forest. You’ll spend the next two nights surrounded by nature's splendor here. Waigeo Island, nestled within the renowned Raja Ampat archipelago, is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. During your stay, we will explore prime viewing locations for the captivating Red Bird-of-paradise and the remarkable Wilson’s Bird-of-paradise. These extraordinary birds, renowned for their vibrant plumage and fascinating courtship displays, can be observed in their natural habitat with ease—just a short 10-minute walk from our lodge. As the sun sets over the horizon, casting a golden hue across the island, you will unwind back at your resort, savoring a delicious dinner while soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. Day 02: Waigeo Island
As the sun begins to rise over the lush landscapes of Waigeo Island, we will embark on an unforgettable birdwatching adventure, immersing ourselves in the rich biodiversity of this tropical paradise. We'll have the opportunity to encounter an array of fascinating avian species, including the magnificent Blyth’s Hornbill, the vibrant Eclectus Parrot, the delicate Emperor Fairywren, the exotic Orange-fronted Fruit Dove, and the striking Papuan Drongo. To make the most of our day, we’ll set our alarms for an early rise at 4:30 AM, allowing us ample time to enjoy a hearty breakfast before our exciting excursions. By 5:00 AM, we will make our way to the hide of Wilson’s Bird of Paradise, a secluded spot famous for its stunning inhabitants. The drive from our resort to the starting point will take approximately 25 minutes, followed by a scenic 20-minute walk through the verdant underbrush to reach our birdwatching hide. Come midday, after a morning filled with the melodic sounds of nature and captivating sights, we’ll break for lunch. In the afternoon, our adventures will continue as we stroll along the roadside, keeping our eyes peeled for more feathered wonders. As the day winds down, we’ll retreat to our comfortable resort to relax and reflect on our day’s experiences, enjoying dinner under the stars. (B, L, D)
Day 03: Waigeo Island
Today promises to be another thrilling adventure as we explore the rich avian diversity of Waigeo Island. Beyond the previously mentioned species, this lush paradise hosts a remarkable array of birds, including the striking and localized Raja Ampat Pitohui, the vibrant Great-billed and Moluccan King-Parrots, and the exquisitely plumaged Claret-breasted, Orange-bellied, and Dwarf Fruit-Doves. As we traverse the lowlands, keep an eye out for the magnificent Palm Cockatoo, the colorful Coconut Lorikeet, the inquisitive Yellow-faced Myna, and the elusive Papuan Pitta. Also watch for the rarely seen White-eared Catbird, the clever Brown-headed Crow, the melodious New Guinea Friarbird, and the splendid Golden Monarch. Don’t miss the chance to spot the unique Waigeo Cuscus as well. Our day will commence much like yesterday, filled with anticipation as we prepare for an exhilarating morning of birdwatching. After our preparations, we’ll make our way to the Red Bird of Paradise hide. The journey involves a scenic 25-minute drive to the drop-off point, followed by a pleasant 15-minute walk through the vibrant surroundings to reach the hide. Here, we’ll immerse ourselves in the enchanting dawn chorus, where the birds will engage in their morning rituals, showcasing their beauty until around 8 or 9 AM. After a fulfilling morning of birdwatching, we’ll return to the resort for a delightful lunch, savoring the local flavors that fuel our exploration. In the afternoon, our adventure continues as we embark on a leisurely birding stroll along the roadside, where new surprises await at every turn. The day will conclude with a restful overnight stay at the resort, providing us time to reflect on our magnificent birding experiences (B, L, D).
Day 04: Waigeo Island
Today’s adventure takes us to the stunning Waigeo Island, where we’ll set out on an exhilarating day trip. Our journey begins with a scenic one-hour drive from our charming resort, winding through lush landscapes that hint at the natural beauty to come. After reaching the dock, we’ll board a boat for a brief 20-minute ride across the sparkling waters. Once we arrive at Kali Biru, get ready to immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity of the region. Keep your eyes peeled for the enchanting Papuan dwarf Kingfisher, renowned for its vibrant plumage. We’ll also have the chance to spot colorful parrots flitting through the trees and majestic hornbills soaring overhead. To fuel our explorations, a delicious lunch box will be provided, so we can savor a meal amidst the breathtaking backdrop of wildlife and nature. Prepare for an unforgettable day filled with discovery and adventure!
Day 05: Waigeo Island – Sorong
We have an exciting morning planned for our bird photography enthusiasts in the stunning region of Waigeo. Following our early morning adventure, we'll enjoy a delightful lunch together at noon, savoring the local flavors. At 1 PM, we will head to the harbor, where we'll prepare for our boat departure at 2 PM, setting sail back to Sorong. This marks the conclusion of our unforgettable journey.
